Snow storm

The east coast US is buried in snow right now. My bro and I have been going out and here are some pics.

We took more pics with a traditional camera, these are from my cellphone, so when I get those developed I'll scan/upload them.

Presidential Inauguration

The president is being sworn in today. Watching the news stirs up emotions I felt during the election season. I was flipping through the news channels waiting for someone to speak up. I wanted someone to disagree and state their opinion against Bush. The country was divided 50/50 during the election yet he acts as if he won by a majority and has the backing of America. The media, after the election, seems to have lowered its head and simply fell back in line. CSPAN 2 had the protesters on. I had tears in my eyes while watching them. I wished I was there. There were veterans speaking, teachers, family members of soldiers serving, children, representatives, etc. It was beautiful to see all different types of people venting their frustions and voicing their concerns.

There is going to be a massive protest across the world on March 19 and 20, the aniversary of the beginning of the Iraq war. I plan to take my vacation then and participate. I just hate going out of state alone so I need to find some chill people to go with. Here are a couple of sites the protesters were promoting.

A.N.S.W.E.R. - Act now to stop war & end racism
That is where I found info regarding March 19/20

Impeachbush
Ramsey Clark, attorney general of the United States (1967–69)gave a great speech and asked for people to vote at this site.

Let me tell you the best moment from the protest. Well for me anyway. This guy went up on the mic and he was yelling and angry telling everyone to fight against a constitutional amendant against gay marriage. He gave a good arguement. He calmed down and introduced an 80 year old woman whom he met on the bus. After talking with her about where he was going she canceled what plans she had and went with him to our nations capitol to protest against Bush. Their trip, I believe from Chicago, was 14 hours long. I was really moved just by the fact that she joined a complete stranger to show how she felt. She gave a brief speech with simple words ending with "bring our sons home". Another touching moment was when a young spanish guy took the mic. He had a brother in Iraq, a brother in Afghanistan, and brother just returning from Iraq who may have to return there. He didn't really say much but he began chanting with great emotion. When he left the stage he was almost in tears. And finally the coolest moment happened on Cnn. Wolf Blitzer was hosting the coverage of the event and he cued a man they had on the street to see how things were down there. He was barely audible. Instead audiences were delivered a clear as day message from a protester who was possitioned very close to the mic. "Fuck Bush" was repeated like 5 times before Wolf cut away saying they had technical difficulties. Priceless moment I wish I had recorded.

Happy New Year! a little late ya I know

Hi all

Lets get the NEW YEAR started with a....

puddle of blood! The meat department at my job is fkn gross.

Something else I found in my store

I'm surprised they had this out for sale. As if no one would notice that Sponge Bob SQUAREpants was a triangle. Dumbass' Gosh!

The holiday season is finally over but buisness is still strong at my job. I had hoped to be able to relax and have some easy nights after new years but the store went straight into a can can sale, which is basically a 2 week long 50% off sale. Thankfully the store hired 3 new guys but they can be a burden if you get teamed up with them because they ask alot of questions and slow you down.

I am still working on the Flash comic that I collaborated with Ugga Bugga on. I'm also going to help with the Pencil Jack Universe. The Pju is a comic book universe being created for the Pencil Jack website so that we can make our own comics with original characters. Ugga is the editor-n-chief of the whole thing and he liked some of my ideas.

Halo 2 is still in my rotation. I try to get a game in before or after work. I think I have played it every day since it came out on Nov 9. My bro picked up MechAssault 2 and it seems alright. Didn't really make me wanna run out and pick it up when I watched him play. A game that does have me drooling is Resident Evil 4! I had seen pics in magazines of it but shit after watching some videos off the 'net I'm picking it up this Tuesday.

New Asian Films

Arahan - Cool flick. The opening sequence is really hot. A girl working at a store touches a customer's hand and for a second she see's his future and that he is going to steal a woman's purse. When he leaves she takes her break and heads for the roof top. The guy takes off on a motorcycle after stealing the purse and the girl chases him down. She is jumping across buildings Matrix style and running down them. When she finally confronts the robber she shoots an energy ball at him. At that moment a goofy police officer who witnessed the whole thing bursts in and ends up getting hit by the energy. She takes him to her masters to get healed and he ends up being able to do the same "wire fu" as the chick. The movie is a good mixture of comedy and as the box advertises "Urban Martial Arts Action".

Aragami - Not Cool. This movie is basically 3 actors in one room for 2 hours. It is by the director of Versus and Azumi. I was expecting action and cameras that whip around in circles. Don't get me wrong I would enjoy a movie about 3 people in a room if the story's good and actors talented. It felt like a total waste of money.

Sword of Doom - Sweet Black and White old school Samurai Movie. A true classic one of a kind. I'm surprised I never heard of it. I was expecting something like Lone wolf and cub. It begins with a duel. One man is obviously more powerful. The weaker man is the son of a powerful figure and if he is beaten his family will loose honor. Everyone goes to the more powerful guy begging him to throw the duel but he refuses. The night before the duel the wife of the weaker man offers herself to him for her husband if he agrees to lose the match. He sleeps with her then kills her husband in the duel. Awsome. The cool thing is the movie shows the ramification of this action. He becomes a loner and is stuck with the woman who gives birth to the dead man's son. She bitches at him and taunts him with lines like "if my husband was still alive we wouldn't be living like this". The action is so great too. I only picked up the movie because the hindu guy recommended it and once again he was right.

Audition - Wow -By the director of Gozu and Ichi the Killer I believe. The movie begins with the death of a wife. The husband raises his son alone and after some years his son remarks that father's beginning to look old and should hurry if he wants to remarry. The father mentions this to his friend and he suggests that they hold an audition for a movie only there really isn't a movie being made, they just want to check out the girls and hopefully find a match for the father. The movie is totatlly normal for the first hour and a half. Kind of a Romantic movie because you feel sorry for this guy as you see him talking with all these woman. But man does it do a fk'n 180*. He ends up with a psycotic chick who hacks people up. I don't want to give too much away as to how exactly because when you see it you will cringe. Her tools and the use of sound is perfect during her sequence.

US dvd's

Shaun of the Dead - Great Flick. Come on now you have to have seen this. The recent Zombie movies have been great. 28 days later, Dawn of the Dead, and this one.

Napolean Dynamite - Sweeeeet!. Funny Nostalgic Goffy fun

Rolling Stones Circus - Pick this up for the WHO. They do a song I had never heard before called A QUICK ONE WHILE THE BOYS AWAY. Pete Townsend is the man! John Lennon with Clapton was also really cool but shit Yoko kills it man. After Lennons first song it looks like they just start jamming. A violenist joins in then ....Yoko. She doesn't even sing, its like wailing and yelling. The Stones were alright but I can see why they decided not to air it. Mick Jagger seemed to be the only one "with it" while his band mates simply stand still playing their instruments. Compare them to the WHO. Townsend is fuk'n jumping and doing windmills with his arm, the drummer is going insane and making wicked faces, lead singer is swinging and catching the mic. The other acts are alright but not really as memorable as the Who's performance.

Eternal Sunshine on the Spotless Mind - the brilliant Michel Gondry. Buy it. I am a huge Gondry fan. I would download his Music Videos, then I got Bjork's Volumen for the collection of his videos (and because she's awsome) and then I picked up the Dvd of all of his work. The guy is good.

Also to looking at some earlier posts
1. I did pick up that Akira book. Its printed on great paper with an awsome cover. The soft cover was printed on some kind of newsprint paper.

2. Rob quit the job to go back to school. He was a cool dude. One of those white guys who things he's black. Good Luck Bro.

And with that I leave you with a nice scenic picture of the New Jersey Dawn.
